If you want to find Latvia on the world map, then look at the top part of the globe and turn it until on you see a small, green-coloured butterfly- or bird-shaped territory on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. Latvia lies across the sea from Sweden, at the crossroads between Eastern and Western Europe. If Latvia is still an unknown territory for you, then we welcome you to discover it! It is never too late to become an explorer like Christopher Columbus.
Although Latvia may not be a large country, it has always drawn visitors as a place with a friendly and hard-working population, and with a territory that is rich in natural resources. This was true centuries ago and is still true today.
Latvia is home to a people who never stop at what they have achieved. We have always wanted to attain even more, to go even further, to climb even higher, to make our country even more beautiful, to do things even faster. That is why here, at the Latvian pavilion in the wide, wide world of Shanghai Expo 2010, we are offering a method that we have found for people to realize their dreams and to achieve their ambitions – we are presenting Latvia’s Technology of Happiness.
We do not expect that during these fast-paced and hurried times you will come knocking on our door. However, if you do decide to visit us, then we will be glad to offer you the chance to feel a brief moment of happiness through Latvia’s Technology of Happiness, which you can experience right here and now at the Latvian pavilion.
