Unites cultures and nations through music
Kremerata Baltica, a world-class chamber orchestra of exceptionally talented young musicians from all three Baltic countries unites cultures and nations through high-quality music. The chamber orchestra is funded by the Ministries of Culture of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
Founded and headed by the world-famous violinist Gidon Kremer in 1997, Kremerata Baltica is a de facto cultural ambassador of the Baltic region and thus a bridge-builder in the context of European integration.
The international profile of the orchestra – 25 musicians from the three Baltic countries – is the embodiment of Gidon Kremer’s belief that music can unify people of different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The chamber orchestra is funded by the Ministries of Culture of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The orchestra has declared as its home, the whole world. Kremerata Baltica annually performs an average of 60 concerts in six concert tours around Europe, Asia and America. They frequently play at the prominent concert halls of Vienna, Berlin, Paris, London, Moscow and New York as well as music festivals, such as Salzburg, Verbier and Dresden, Prague Spring and BBC Promenade events in London. The orchestra has produced 10 music CDs.
