Speak openly and from the heart, and other hearts will open to inspiration
“In the music of BrainStorm I can sense that special quality that great groups possess – identity. I think that’s how I would describe it,” says the group’s close friend, photographer and producer Anton Corbijn.
For the last 20 years, BrainStorm has been the most popular and successful pop music group in Latvia. Its albums are always top-sellers and singles are radio station hits. The group has received many awards at various music events. During its last concert tour in 2008, BrainStorm gathered a record-breaking number of concert-goers with a total of over 80 000 viewers. The concern in Riga was attended by 45 000 making it the biggest concert ever held in Riga.
BrainStorm is also the best-known Latvian pop group outside of Latvia. The music of BrainStorm is written from the heart and hence its success. The group has produced four CDs in English and one in Russian. Braistorm has warmed up the concerts of pop-stars such as the Rolling Stones, R.E.M., the Cranberries, Depeche Mode and Supergrass. In 2003, BrainStorm finished 3rd in the international Eurovision song festival.
